Hi! I had implantation from june 07 and removed it 01/07/09. I was on my cycle when I had it removed and started having pregnancy symptoms 2-3 wks. later from the very light spotting(lasting 1 1/2 days, sore nipples, sleeping later than usual and headaches, peeing more often esp. at night, and being extremely thirsty). I have taken two pt both came back neg. :-( maybe took too soon!!?? I still haven't started my period though which I should have over a week ago! Help please... Anyone experience this?

Hi there,
I had my implant put in nowhere near my period. Having waited 6 months to come on and with my husband back from draft for 3 weeks prior I persuaded my gp to put the implant in without waiting for my next cycle. Since having it I am always tired. Often going to bed at 7:30, waking at 6 to pee and going back to bed at around midday until 2 when I have to collect my children from school.
My appetite is off, yet I have gained 7lbs. I'm always thristy and always bleeding. My bleeding is never heavy enough to require a full on pad, a liner will surfice, but it is constant. Of course this in itself is contraception enough.
But I also have sore boobs, aching nipples, strange 'movements' in my abdomen, and now, heart burn.
I have taken two tests both of which were negative. So on insisting the doctor be more thorough went for a scan where I was told I most definitely was not pregnant. A specialist has said all of these symptoms can be put down to the implant.............sigh.

I hope this helps to reassure you you're not the only one out there with these odd symptoms. I would strongly advise telling your doctor to send you for a scan. The good thing about it is a radiographer can not only tell you that you are/are not pregnant but can also say how long ago or how long till your next period.

good luck,
Jo
