I experienced the same problem. I had a steroid shot following a severe reaction to cedar pollen and I've never had irregular periods before, but the one following the injection lasted weeks and so clotty that I thought my uterus was dying. It was terrible!! It did even out the next month though..

Had my 1st shot on 4/10. Period came one day late on 4/23. I'm still spotting from day 1. No flow. Just cramps and spotting. The more patients complain to their dr about this side effects then the MED community and work on a treatment to fix it or prevent. It.

So sorry that happened to you. But don't you think it's a total coincidence? That no one has suffered with abnormalities until this shot happened

Hi, had a period for about 6 weeks! or longer...I'm 44 and my gyn thinks it may be hormonal imbalance but I'm not convinced. I had kenelog injection in my shoulder the end of May, got my brownish 'period' about a month later. After a week of that, I got regular period that lasted 3 weeks, then brownish (as if it wanted to finish) alternating with regular stuff on an of for about next 3 weeks. I honestly thought it would never end. I was frustrated, tired and scared of it. About 5 days ago it ended. Not sure when my next period is going to be. Not fully sure if it's because of the shot, however, as soon as the soreness re-started in my shoulder, my period finally ended. Well, I'm never getting a cortisone injection ever again. Good luck ladies. This site has helped me a lot in dealing with this miserable issue. Knowing that so many women had to go through the same stuff was very comforting. In addition, I had other side effects from the injection, which the doc didn't care to share with me. Initial pain in the entire right arm, flushing of face, being tired and now, some weird rush/allergy that is showing up on my arms! go figure!

Just wanted to chime in as yet another steroid injection victim. I got extensive steroid injections on my scalp for severe alopecia. I received 2 steroid injections, 1 month apart. Almost 1 month after the second set of injections, I got a regular flow period, which was 18 days after my last one. I usually have a very regular 28-day cycle menses. I thought I was going through pre-menopause! Glad I decided to do some google research and found this blog. It was really starting to concern me, and now I feel slight relief. Thanks to everyone who decided to blog about their experience! I hope that I get back to some sense of normalcy soon, as I wish the same for everyone else too.

I had two anaphylactic reactions in 48 hours, I was 52 and post menopausal. I was given a 6 week course of cortisone and wound up bleeding for 16 months straight. It was miserable. I have done countless hours of research and finally got it under control with a hormone specialist. It ruined my adrenals in the process. You may want to consider a Naturpathic Dr to help balance you. What really helped more than anything was an herb called Chasreberry (it's also called Vitex) , this helps balance the relationship between estrogen and progesterone. Another herb that greatly helped is DIM, which is a potent combo of sulfur veggies (like a mega mega dose of broccoli). Obviously check with a professional first and best of luck starting a new family! Also good luck with your back.

I had the same issue, bleeding for weeks and weeks, and ended up having a D&C after both to stop the bleeding.
