I'm glad I found this, I have an appointment with my obgyn tomorrow. I had a steroid injection in my lumbar region, one in October, one in November and one in March. I started my period on April 12th and am still on it June 1st with no breaks. If I do stop a day either sex or a bowel movement will start it again. My husband and mother think I may need a hysterectomy which I am completely ok with. I am 40 years old so not planning on any kids and have never had kids. So we will see what the doctor says tomorrow.

I got a cortisone shot in my lumbar about 1 month ago. My menustration was due to come 3 weeks ago but it didn't come until until just recently seven days ago. My periods are never late and they last 3-5 days. I'm already on day 7 and to add to that my cramps are much stronger. Have appt coming up in 3 days but hopefully I get lucky and this goes away. Wish I would have never got this shot. Certainly not going back for the other two shots.

Hi was your obgyn able to check your uterus? Mine acts like I'm a nut and she's the only one I can get an appointment with on my insurance. I've been bleeding and have had pelvic pain form my lumbar injection for 10 months now. I look emaciated and malnourished from this. I have doctors bills in huge piles unpaid and I'm just sitting here wasting away. I don't think I will be able to have children after all this. I hope someone can find an answer on this blog soon because some of us are running out of time.

Good morning. I had a kenalog injection about 4 weeks ago and a normal period followed. I only had a 2 day break and it started again. Have been bleeding now for 2,weeks and I am really worried. Would be grateful to here it this really can be down to the steroid injection

yes dear read all the post here. we have all had abnormal bleeding becuz of the steriod injections. Whats sad is they dont tell us its a side effect. i wish we could do a class action suite. its so sad. I bled for 3 months btw and ended up with a very large cyst on my ovary. Its aweful dear and the doctors really dont see this is an issue. Feel better soon

Steroid shot delayed my period start and added an extra 7 days to my cycle when it started not too much flow but continued for 7 days..then spotted for 7 more .....the next day I started again but lots of cramping! Its been 19 days now and my OBGYN ordered an ultrasound because I said absolutely not to the biopsy. I am writing to confirm what you all have experienced.

Hi I received a shot of Triamcinolone in my shoulder a few weeks ago. I also had this same shot in my thoracic area in 2008. Well in 2008 after the shot I had ver very prolonged bleeding and clotting. This lasted almost 3 months I was miserable! I saw a gyno had some tests and nothing was found wrong. I suggested the shot to the gyno and she said it was possible reaction.

Fast forward to 2016 the rheumatologist asked me why I didnt want a shot for my bursitis and djd in my shoulder. I explained to him what happened to me years ago. Well I was pretty much laughed at " he has never heard of such a thing"

I contacted my primary doctor and she said she looked into the connection and couldnt find anything....FRUSTRATING!!

I will never do the shot again!!

so sad that these doctors refuse to acknowledge it as a problem. u can read on this site the number of us who have had prolonged bleeding. My doctors admitted it...after the fact of course. becuz they feel we bleed anyway so whats the big deal. well they are not the ones going through it. I bled for 3 months heavily and horribly...I WILL NEVER ALLOW THEM TO INJECT ME AGAIN. Dont be frustrated dear it is true. heavy doses of steroid effect our hormones seriously in horrible ways. Alot of these doctors refuse to except this.

I didn't appreciate being dismissed like I can't think for myself and have an opinion or just maybe have some knowledge of my own body.
So now I have terrible pain and a flood thanks shot!
