I've been taking Prozac for a few months now to help with PTSD, depression and OCD. I didn't take my pills for the past 4 days. I started having extremely vivid and upsetting nightmares by day 2. I've started taking them again, but do you think that the lack of Prozac is what triggered the nightmares? Is it so terrible to miss a few days?
(For some background info, the reason for my PTSD, depression and OCD is childhood abuse- physical, verbal, sexual, mental, neglect- and I only got out of that house about 2 years ago).

You shouldn't stop taking your meds without consulting your doctor/psychiatrist.
The nightmares are probably the beginning of withdrawal.
Your body gets so used to it that it gets stressed when you stop giving it what it thinks it needs.
If you feel it isn't the right drug for you, talking to the person who prescribed it for you, and they will help you with weaning off of the pills.
This will result in no withdrawal symptoms (shaking, nausea, anxiety, and sleep problems)
