I stopped taking the birth control patch 2 days before I had the 4th week free. I did not have my menstrual cycle at all that free week. The dates are as listed:

March 11: Beginning of free 4th week
March 18: Would have been the start of a new pack
March 19-20: I had brown and pink spotting
March 21: I had full blown red bleeding for that week.

That week I seriously was wondering when it was going to stop and it was pretty consistent. This is probably TMI, but it was not as thick as a normal menstrual would be. It was a bit different to me even at that. Also, shortly after I stopped the patch I had a world of pregnancy symptoms. I had nausea, overly exhausted, headaches; my heart was beating really fast, stomach cramps, and food aversions. I know that these are common after ending birth control and that is what my doctor told me as well. I am still dealing with nausea and am still feeling tired. I feel tired during the day, I fall asleep before 8 or 9pm, wake up around 11pm/midnight, and still fall asleep to wake up at 6am. Before this I couldn't even make myself fall asleep.

My question is rather or not its common for a menstrual to skip a week and just come on for a full week when it does? I was only on the patch for 2 months and did not think it would be so serious as far as side effects from taking it off 2 days before I was supposed to. Is this something I should worry about or just deal with? I tried calling my Obgyn already last week and got no response back. They just transferred me over to the nurses station which was only an answering machine. I am going to call them Monday, but its just driving me crazy thinking about it. My fiancé thinks I am pregnant no matter how much I mention birth control effects, but I guess he is rubbing off on me about the possibilities.
