Hello. I'm 34 year old female and I would like to get some information about I'm very worried about my husband.
You see, about three months ago my husband who is doctor and I have found out that he is accepted in specialization for radiologist.
He has applied for three specializations and I prayed that he wouldn’t be accepted for this one. I have heard a lot of bad things about radiology and that some very serious diseases are present among radiologist. Beside all kind of tumors I have heard a lot of bad stuff about some radiation called leukoencephalopathy. Please, if someone knows something about this-feel free to write me about this. It would be more then appreciated.

Hello. I have also heard some stuff about these common disorders that could be induced by radiation but never knew some precise facts about it. So, I have read some stuff about it and listen what I have found out. Radiation necrosis is part of a series of clinical syndromes related to CNS complications of radiotherapy.
These syndromes occur in a distinct chronologic order and have characteristic pathophysiology.
Leukoencephalopathy means disorder of white brain matter. Diffuse white matter demyelination with T1 hypointensity and T2 hyperintensity is seen at MR. The truth is that it really is more common among radiologist because of their increased exposure to X-rays. That’s why I think that doctor in fact can't work his whole work carrier as radiologist.
