Hi, I just read your post and was surprised to find out that I am currently going through what you went through. I just gave birth to a child and suffered a 4 degree tear. It was repaired after birth but the stitches did not hokd so now I have about a 4 cm hole between my vagina and my rectum sonny poop comes out of my vagina. I have seen a very reputable colorectal surgeon who gave me the same advice of keep it clean and wait for it to heal itself. I have only been dealing with this for a few days and am really struggling with the prospect of it. I can scared, depressed and overwhelmed. I am also wondering how I can supposed to take care of a new born when I can't even control my bowels. I have been using a sitz bath and a Peri bottle but can't seem to get it fully clean. I am worried about getting an infection. I would love any advice you have or at least the support of knowing that you went through this and we're able to recover.
