Hi, guys. I have heard that tamiflu is not safe to use in infants, but I am not sure in accuracy of that statement. What are the possible side effects of this drug when used with kids in that age? What should one do if his kid has flu like symptoms? I would appreciate your help here. Thanks in advance.

Hello. You are right. Tamiflu is not recommended for kids that are younger than one. There is oral suspension for kids of one and older. If they are younger, FDA has some special rules about that. In those cases dosage is 3 mg per kilogram. If an infant is younger than 3 months, it is highly recommended not to take it. Only if the situation is critical, then one could take it. However, an expert must be consulted. I hope this will help. Bye!
