I have been on zoloft for a long time now - nearly three years. Unfortunately, it looks like my current antidepressant isn't helping any more so now we have been talking about venlafaxine now. Zoloft has been gentle on me as far as side effects go, and I am worried venlafaxine will not be the same. What do you think? Is venlafaxine known for its bad side effects?

I think the most challenging aspect of starting venlafaxine is that it can make you feel worse when you are just starting. If you have had suicidal thoughts before, then they may increase. Of course, your usual nausea, fatigue, headache, drosiness also apply here. It might be easier of you combine venlafaxine with zoloft if that is possible. Good luck.
