I recently stopped taking birth control 4 days ago. My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex that night. Two days after that I started to experience a pink discharge along with nasuea and cramping. Then it turned to brown discharge the next day also with the nasuea and cramping still. Could I be pregnant or could it be the side effects from stopping birth control?

Hi there

Depending on what combination Birth Control pill you were taking, for some periods return soon after and are fertile [can cause pregnancy]. While women on other pills take a two-week delay before they ovulate again. Their periods would follow about four to six weeks after they take the last pill. Once ovulation resumes, they can become pregnant.

To be on a safe course, please conduct a pregnancy test after a week. Good luck
