I agree! The steroids didn't increase my appetite. I barely eat and worked out with a trainer 3 times a week. Every since I got the steroid injection and inhalers plus two round of antibiotics for the pneumonia, I've gained about 12 pounds and can not get them off. Not to mention the cortisone shots in my knee for an injury. I can't take this! Ugh! And the only thing I can of that is the culprit!!! I even hard my doctor run a full panel on my thyroid. It came back fine. Something is not right.

Oh my stars! The same thing happen to me when I had the pneumonia. I can't wear my pants either. I feel miserable. No matter what I do I can not lose the weight. Everyone in my group working out with the trainer are losing weight and I'm gaining. This is crazy! By the way, I had my doctor do a full panel on my thyroid, came back fine. It's the steroids. If i would have known this was going to happen I would have taken my chances with the pneumonia. Or at least find another alternative. I know my body and this is not normal for me.

I just went to the doctor today for this and he didn't believe me even though I know my 30 pound weight gain is from this damn shot. I just turned 23 years old. I've always been a skinny chick. I was 130 pounds before my injection, and now I'm 160. The weight will not come off no matter what. My stretch marks are so awful. Honestly all I can think about is how upset I am that I got this injection and it's so depressing. I already suffer from depression and this is making it worse. I hate my body so much. I hope that someone can find a solution to fixing the problem these shots created. I'd hate to think it's possible for just one shot to permanently change a body. I've always had such a high metabolism.

The doctor didn't believe it was the steroid injection and put me on an ADD/binge eating medication called Vyvanse to help me lose weight. This is my third day on it. I went from 160 pounds on Wednesday to 154.2 pounds today (Friday). Here's to hoping! I plan on only staying on this stuff til I reach my goal weight of 130 pounds. I'm no doctor or scientist, but from what I understand, the shot should be completely out of my system. It's been exactly a year and 16 days since my cortisone injection. I feel like the weight not coming off is hopefully only the aftermath of the shot and that the weight this pill is making me lose will stay off! Fingers crossed. This whole ordeal has been absolute hell. I'll keep you all updated! No-one on any of the forums about this has ever mentioned using ADD medication to lose the weight. Maybe it's the answer? I'm seeing an Endocrinologist in 2 weeks for testing on everything to see if my cortisol levels are high though. By the way, just like you guys, no amount of dieting, eating right, or working out was helping me to lose weight. I'm honestly shocked I'm at 154 right now. Haven't seen that number all year. I've been stuck at 160.

I think I found the answer to losing this weight! So don't lose hope. I gained 30 pounds after just one injection in my ankle and I couldn't lose the weight either. I worked out so much and ate only a select few "clean" foods for 4 months and didn't lose anything. I just ended up looking puffier and had way more stretchmarks. I had searched everywhere for answers. I found a YouTube video that said hardcore workouts and cardio were very bad to do after an injection and could actually pump your cortisol up higher which makes you gain more fat. I found this out after I had already given up working out because I noticed it was making things worse and I didn't want anymore stretchmarks. I had gotten my steroid injection on December 13th of 2016. I realized I was fat by around March or April( it really does sneak up on you when you've never been fat before!). That wasn't too long after the shot, so I know my cortisol levels had to have still been high (I read it could take 6 months to a year for the shot to be completely out of your system. I'm assuming when I started working out for those 4 months, I was just keeping the cortisol levels high which made them stay higher longer. It has now been a year and a few months since the shot. I very recently went to see an Endocrinologist and get my cortisol levels checked and they were normal! I started working out and eating super healthy and I'm losing weight! I've lost around 10 pounds this month so far! I think once you know it's finally out of your system, that's when you have to make the true effort to lose the weight by eating super healthy and doing yoga, cardio, and for me, arm exercises (I gained a lot of weird fat on my upper arms). It sucks knowing you basically have to wait it out before you can do anything about it, but at least I can hopefully help anyone who made the same mistake I did. In the meantime, just be sure to stay away from carbs. I read those really store the fat when you have high cortisol. Right now I'm eating healthy carbs like brown rice and oatmeal. Just be patient right now until you hit the one year mark. My periods were crazy the whole year and very recently are back to normal. I also no longer have irregular bleeding. I hope I could help someone! I know how it feels to be hopeless in this situation. That's why I obsessed over it and wouldn't stop until I got answers. There is hope ❤️ Despite what I read on a lot of these sites, you will eventually be able to lose the weight.

Good luck with that cleanse. I did it , it's a hard one.
also, that is very interesting that you say that you feel like the drug is rebelling the cleanse... that is very strange and interesting. I wish you luck with your weight loss.

Hi! I'm 22 years old and also had my injection in December 2016. I've gained 15 pounds which are IMPOSSIBLE to lose. Are you still on the ADD medication? Have you been successful with losing more weight? Also my period was messed up all year and I even lost over half of my hair.

To be honest I was only on the ADD medication for 8 days because I couldn't handle the side effects. I had awful dry mouth and my skin was starting to get so gross looking and I was getting itchy bumps and pimples on my face. I lost like 8 pounds just being on it for 8 days, but I have been eating healthy all month as well as doing yoga and exercising. I'd say that the shot should be out of your system if you got yours the same time as mine, but if you've been working out trying to lose it this whole time then I'm guessing you probably never gave your body the chance to lower the high cortisol. I'd wait a few months of not really working out and just eating healthy, low carb foods and then start working out again and you should start to lose it :) I'm at 148 right now after just one month and the lowest I've read this month was 146.2. I do yoga for 25 minutes to and hour every day as well as 25 minutes on my exercise bike and some short arm, butt, and ab workout videos. ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** posting of private information such as name, phone number or email address is not allowed in order to protect your privacy*** *** Also no websites or social network links *** ***Please read our Terms of Use Follow me and I can talk about this further with you and show you proof of how big and swollen I was and how I am now. There's a huge difference, even if I've only lost around 12 pounds (though 12 pounds is awesome for a month). My periods are finally back to normal, but sadly I noticed my acne is back in full force :( I guess cortisone injections clear up acne which is the only plus I can find with the damn things. Now my hormonal acne is erupting over my face again after a whole year of clear, beautiful skin but I'd rather deal with my acne than to be as big as I was! I was so unhappy and depressed. You know what, I lost hair too! I mean I gained hair in embarrassing places but I feel like the triangles near the front of my head are so much thinner than usual and I've been trying to do peppermint oil black tea treatments on them to help my hair grow back.

I had a series of steroid shots put into 3 scars on my shoulder. I did not gain weight at all, or notice any side effects, except for my scar getting bigger and first, then reducing size

I had shots for my alopecia areata for 6 months. I GAINED weight. They say you dont but YES you do. They also made me moody and depressed. I gained in my entire mid section and was constantly starving. I didn't realize what was going on til it was too late. Now I have 18 pounds of junk weight to get off. I'm not doing shots anymore because my hair came back. Now I'm using womens rogain eating healthy and working out 5 days a week. I want my life back. Hair, body and happy attitude. Gonna work my butt off for it!!!

That makes soooo much more sense to me. Been having Epidural shots for 2 yrs off and on, take Prednisone for my sinus infections in the winter and just had back surgery about 4 mos ago, not sure if they give u any steroid shots in with that but dam I have put some mega weight on. No matter what I do I cannot take it off and this isnt me at all. My appetite hasnt changed tho. But I just look at food and seems like I gain acouple pds. I am active. None of my clothes fit me. The only good thing is actually Im pretty solid . Stomachs alittle flabby but nothing to freak out about. Boobs have gotten HUGE ! And no I dont like that ! LOL !! I hate eating because I know I will put on more weight , starve myself, but than I get really tired and I know its from not eating so yea I gotta eat something. This is miserable !! On top of all this I quit smoking and hey ex- smokers we all know what that means ! UGH ! I cant win for losing. After reading your comment boy it makes alot of sense to me ! Thanks U !

I am looking for a steroid that would help me gain weight slowly while I train. I don't want the hypertrophy to be obvious. Any ideas? Hopefully something with minimal side effects or even a really good stacking agent?
