Hi, patients with chronic myeloid leukemia face many decisions while they are getting their treatment. Doctors are not able to completely predict course of events. So CML patients must collaborate in making decisions. Patients must constantly learn about the nature or the natural history of chronic myeloid leukemia, in order to provide information for decision-making. As the disease progresses it is important to know that low platelet counts may lead to uncontrolled bleeding and development of infections. So, occurrence of these events is related with progression of the disease.
