Hi, I was reading this morning in some magazine about meds and how dangerous they are when people take too much of them. I started taking Prozac couple of weeks ago, so I’m wondering what happens if you take more than prescribed. Did it happen to anyone?

Hi, I used Prozac 20 mg daily few years ago. I used some other antidepressants before that, but I didn’t have much success. I was depressed all the time, I was rarely going out of my flat and my marriage was in crisis. I thought that prozac will make me feel better, so I started taking more that it was prescribed to me. I started having headache, dry mouth, tremor, anxiety, low energy, sexual dysfunction and irritability. I wasn’t feeling well, and I had to be hospitalized. I could avoid all of that if I just didn’t increase the dose myself, and take too many meds. I was in shock when my doctor told me how many people die every year from overdosing and side effects. Never take more than your doctor prescribed you!
