When your test results show High levels of cortisol and low levels of DHEA, it menas that your body cannot make enough DHEA to balance cortisol. This is the first sign of adrenal exhaustion and a normal response to chronic stress as the adrenal gland switches from DHEA production to cortisol production instead. You need a long break from whatever that chronic stress may be: insomnia, mental or physical or emotional overload, poor diet or whatever. Failure to correct leads to exhaustion and DHEA can be supplemented to make you feel better, but it must be part of a package of recovery without which worsening can be expected.

How would you assess problems related to low cortisol (saliva testing) and high dhea (blood labs)? What does it tell you and is there a standard protocol?
