My doctor diagnosed me with high cortisol (a stress hormone produced by adrenal glands) a couple of years ago. He said the level was "sky high" and dangerous and could predispose me to heart attack, stroke, dementia, etc. He has me on Klonipin, a benzodiazapene, for the problem. I want to get off the drug, but I'm scared about the cortisol and don't know any other way to lower it. Anyone have any insight on high coritisol and its effects and successful treatment?
