I have been used a few different birth control methods in the last 12 years or so, 1 pill, can't remember what kind, the patch - scary mood swings, and most recently the depo provera shot (last 2 years). I've had some freaky side effects that I wasn't prepared for with the depo, but had been told that it was the only non-estrogen based bc (besides diaphrams and condoms) and wouldn't really increase my risk for blood clots and strokes.

I'm looking for a new bc and want to know if there's a pill that will not give me anxiety (only had that with the depo) and won't greatly increase my risk for clots and strokes. I'm a generally healthy person who's risk factors are that I'm overweight, but bloodwork is fine, and have family history on my mom's side of clots and heart attack.

I'm sure that you can understand why I'm concerned. Can you please help?
