When I first started with yaz I started getting really nauseous, especially if I took it at a slightly different time (ie an hour or two later than usual). Now that is not as bad, but it still often happens on the weekends when I sometimes take the pill at a slightly different time. Another big problem is the spotting. At first I would spot for about 5-7 days if I missed a pill. But this month I didn't miss any pills and have been spotting for over a week. It seems like it may not stop until I get my real period and then my real period goes away. What a pain.

Other than that, I have been happy with yaz, and it is the first birth control I've taken so I don't have much to compare it to.

This is my second pack of yaz and so far I'm not impressed. The first month I had spotting for almost a week before my period which lasted thru all of the white pills, which would have been fine w/out the spotting. This month I take the last white pill tomorrow and no period yet, just cramps and increase in emotional tendencies. I just started very lightly spotting about an hour ago, and I have an appointment with my obgyn tomorrow to get an actual prescription, but reading all these has me kind of scared. My boyfriend and I have been freaked out for the past 2 days that its been late, and I'm not sure this is right for me if these are common occurrences...

This all sounds so familiar. I have been on Yaz for about seven months. It started out pretty decent, then after about three to four months I began having horrible mood swings, and NOW it seems that every other month I begin spotting a week and a half before the white pills, that same blackish/brownish color, sometimes a tiny bit of a red. Headaches all day long. At first I was worried that something was wrong with me, but I'm pretty sure now that the Yaz is the problem and I will be stopping it as soon as I go back to the OB-GYN.

YAZ is awful. I'm 17 and on my second month on it and its the only birth control I've ever been on. Before, my period just lasted 3-4 days with no cramps whatsoever. I'm now tired all the time, cramping, and on my 15th f***ing day of my period! I'm done! There's no point on me being on birth control when I can't even have sex!

i just started YAZ a couple of weeks ago, ive done everything right with it and its been a nightmare!, my face has broken out ive had horrible mood swings( which is strange considering its supposed to help with PMS symptoms)and worst part of all , i am on day 12 of my period it wont stop!, and its not dark blood that i ussually see toward the end of my period its bright red every day. i want to wait it out ive heard alot of these symptoms are temporary and everyone react differently , but im in hell right now. but in good news ive lost 3 pounds, but mostly probably because ive been nauses everyday for the last week!

I started using YAZ two weeks ago and I have light spotting and my mood swings are all messed up, i'm a lot more crabbier. Can someone tell me if it's just because it's my first time getting used to the birth control?

I've been on Yaz for a little over a month. And have been on my period for going on 12 days. Monday through Friday it was very light. Didn't use a tampon the whole week but come Saturday it was like a massacre. I'm going through tampons like crazy and it hurts so much to put them in now that i've switched to pads. My mood especially on Saturday was horrible...I got drunk just to go to a family party because I didn't want to b***h anyone else but what ended up happening is I was a total b***h to my boyfriend, my boobs are super tender so you can forget me letting him touch them, and my period has gone from light brownish, to heavy dark red, to light bright red, and now back to light dark red, i'm hoping this is over soon but at any rate im about 1 week into my 2nd pack and am going to the gyn tomorrow and switching back to Yasmin. I was so much less irritable and my period was very regular with Yasmin.

I just started taking yaz and I started last month on the first day of my period which was also a Sunday so like the manual said I started taking it that day. Normally my period last 3-4 days 5 at the most. On my very first pack my period lasted a whole 7 days I didn't think anything of it. Then I started extreme migraine headaches, Ive always been prone to headaches but these headaches lasted for days. When I got to the inactive pills of the first pack I didn't start my period until the third inactive one. well I continued to use it and I started my second pack Sunday and my period continued into the 4th pill of the new pack, in reading everyone elses reviews I decided to stop taking them. That was last Wednesday and I'm still spotting. That's 6 days of having my period and 5 days I've been spotting. It looks like a lot of people had these issues after 3-4 packs I find it odd it happened to me in my first. Has anyone talked to their obgyn about the issue and what did they suggest?

I have been on Yaz for about a year and a half. Now all of a sudden I get intense migraines (which I never had in my life beforehand) and I have been spotting for about 5 days which also never happened before. I usually get my period on the saturday of the placebo and it goes until that following tuesday and I have no idea where this spotting is coming from!! It never happened before and it is really frustrating me due to the fact that it goes from light to heavy to light to heavy and it just cannot make up it's mind!!! Anyone else been on it this long and experienced the same kind of things!? HELP! :$

I have been on yaz for about a year now. It is the only BC I have ever been on and my doc put me on it b/c I have a history of high blood pressure. At first it was fine - a little freaky b/c I didn't get my period when I took the placebo pills for the first few months (my period would show up on the 2nd or 3rd "real" pill and I would spend a few days scared out of my mind that I might be pregnant). Then about 4 months in I noticed mood swings - I would cry over stupid things and it was stressful for those around me and me. My doctor said that the crying was probably due to stress and not the pills at all - but after reading what people have said here I'm thinking it was probably the pills. My doc told me to not take the placebo pills and effectively just skip my periods b/c that might help with the mood swims since they always occurred right before I started - so I've been doing that but ever since I started that I've had almost constant spotting. Heavy then light, dark brown to bright red. I swim a lot so this is really really annoying. And just when I think it's over I ruin another paid of underwear. The good news seems to be that since I stopped taking the placebo pills my mood has leveled out - I just hate all this spotting. It's gross and I don't like dealing with it. Guess it's better than a baby or high blood pressure...?

I've been on yaz for almost 2 months & hate it. I've never been on a bc before, so I hope this isn't normal, but I've been spotting/bleeding for almost a month now. I had a full fledge period 2 weeks into taking yaz, and my doctor said it just hasn't gotten into my system yet. I had my period even though I wasn't on the sugar pill and just continued the regimen. 1 week later I started spotting, sometimes light/sometimes heavy/sometimes thin and sometimes dark brown. I'm soo confused & frustrated.. I've been soo regular my entire life to the point I could tell the hour I would start. Now I'm constantly bleeding & my wedding is coming!!!! Also, it was supposed to help w/ acne & definitely has not. I also constantly feel hungry. I'm not sexually active, so being pregnant is not a possibility, but I would definitely be scared if I was.
