To people saying that zoloft does not make you gain weight, this is untrue. When I perscibed zoloft my psychatrist listed all the side effects, one of them being weight gain. HOWEVER, just like any drug, not everybody experiences certain side effects, which is why it may cause weight gain for some and bot for others.

A side effect of Zoloft is definite weight gain. The fact that you are on the Adderall is why you are not gaining weight. Adderall is an appetite suppressant.

Zoloft DOES NOT MAKE U GAIN WEIGHT!!!

I've been taking Zoloft for 1 year now & YES IT DOES MAKE SOME PEOPLE GAIN WEIGHT!!! Weight loss & weight gain are BOTH side effects. Before I started taking Zoloft, I weighed 100 lbs., but I now weigh 120. Not everyone in this world react to medications the same.

Yes, it does. Talk to a pharmacy tech.

Isn't that a bit like saying "thinking happy thoughts" would be a fine substitute for your Zoloft prescription?

Zoloft makes some peple gain weight. I am one of them. I was exercising and eating moderately and then started taking zoloft and then I started gaining a lot of weight. I have gained 30 lbs. I am 43 so maybe my age also has something to do with it. As your biochemistry changes so do your responses to medication. Some people will gain on it some won't. I believe it can exacerbate a tendency to gain weight.

Lexapro is not like Zoloft. They are not in the same class of drugs. Zoloft is an MAOI drug that is used to treat depression. Lexapro is an SSRI and is used to treat depression/anxiety. The drugs are metabolized differently by the body. You should ask your doctor about combining the two meds, accidental overdose is very common in people who take sedative type medications.

zoloft (sertraline) is a Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) and not a  Monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI)/ Adderall(dextroamphetamine) and Ritalin (methylphenidate) are Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI). taking ritalin with zoloft increases serotonin drastically. taking adderall with zoloft doesnt increase seretonin but decreases the metabolism of the adderall which enhances and prolongs the effect. its 100% safe to mix these 3. dont worry about a thing. if you have any questions, dont hesitate to ask.

Zoloft CAN make you gain weight, but it is not definite side effect for everyone. I noticed that I feel really woozy on days that I don't eat enough, but I prevent weight gain by eating alot of HEALTHY, high fiber foods and drinking alot of water so I get fuller quicker.

Actually, there has been cases of extreme weight loss and weight gain with Zoloft. It really depends on your body. I've actually lost weight since I've started Zoloft. I'm in treatment for depression and an eating disorder. My doctor was worried I still wasn't eating after being prescribed Zoloft. But it has actually boost my appetite and metabolizes my food faster..
