Okay so I know a million other women have asked this question but I also know that post-Adderall weight gain is specific and I was wondering if anyone else who had stopped taking Adderall or who knew of someone who stopped taking it with similar conditions could possibly enlighten me. I am 20 years old and I am stopping my Adderall because I have been on it for about 4 years and I want to get off. I take 15mg XR and not for ADHD or ADD but because I have mitochondrial disease and because of it have chronic fatigue. The Adderall helps me stay awake and gives me energy. Anyway, I've been talking a lot with my doctor about stopping some of my medication and the Adderall is the first to go. I'm excited about stopping it, because I don't want to be on it for the rest of my life if I can learn to cope with the fatigue in other ways. When I first started Adderall, I didn't notice a significant weight loss. Maybe 10 pounds? Of course, I was already thin so it looked like I had lost a lot of weight when I hadn't. Over the years, I've been eating normally (not unintentionally starving myself like I know a lot of Adderall users do) and have gained some of the weight back. I'm now about 120lbs, 5ft 4 in, which is a good weight. I'm healthy. Anyway, I was just wondering if I am going to gain a lot of weight once I stop taking Adderall. I know a lot of people have expressed weight gain but my eating habits stayed constant while on the medicine and I wasn't overweight before starting it. I know this is something superficial to worry about but I'm a college girl and I'm a little self-conscious that I'm doomed to gain weight once I stop taking this medicine. Can anyone help?
