I got mine on Monday and my whole arm was sore afterwards and within an hour my hand was swollen. I was at school and there was no possible way of me going home. By the end of school i had a major headache and 2 days later nothing has changed except extreme pain through my whole arm. And I currently feel miserable and really sick. :(

I got a tetanus shot a week ago today. My arm has been a little sore but I knew that would happen. Today I woke up with a red, itchy, hot rash on my arm and my arm feels a little stiff. I noticed that there have been quite a few others that have had this same problem, what did you do to get rid of the rash and how long did it last? It's starting to become very uncomfortable.

Wow I didn't expect this many people with the same issue. I had my Tetanus shot Sunday April 1st 2012 in the evening. They gave it to me after I had to get stitches for being hit in the head with a softball. Anyways Tuesday April 3rd afternoon I started having some pain in my armpit. In the early morning of Wednesday April 4th I awoke to severe pain in my armpit, I couldn't lie on any side to make it go away. I kinda thought nothing of it and took Advil to subside it, It seemed to work so on with my day. Later that day the pain returned a bit worse so I took Advil and it went away again. Then in the Early Morning of Thursday April 5th I woke to Excruciating pain in my armpit, I could barely move my arm without it hurting worse. I took Advil and headed to the emergency room at Swedish. By the time I arrived most the pain had gone away and they said their was nothing wrong. So to make this shorter I returned early this morning Friday April 6th to Swedish Medical Center didn't take any pills, and they don't know what was causing this. I believe this is why they are doing this. They know its the shot that can do this to people but wont say it is cause they don't want to take responsibility for your problem they caused. And they are more then willing to charge you 4 visits worth of cost and they deny it has anything to do with them. I haven't had any medical issues in over 15 years. Now my Armpit is killing me and my eye socket is turning Yellow, WTF is going on people. This has got to be a call for an attorney, do I have a case here or what ? I would love a response to this as soon as possible. Thank you, I had the shot at ( Mill Creek, Washington ) Swedish Medical Center. Im not going to take pills for the rest of my life. NO WAY !!

yeah..... I had mine on Tuesday & my arm hurts like shitt!! I just got freaked out & I nearly visited my doc. thanx to you.... :) I read this article where a new born baby got his/her arm amputated because of some injection... I thought i was in danger too....

I had a dog bite in the hand and I went to the VA to get a tetanus booster and possible some antibiotics. They made me wait in a small room from 4:00 p.m. until 9:45 p.m. There was no pain or any remarkable features at the injection site. But about a week later my neck and shoulder muscles just locked up on me. I could not even raise my head off the bed without assitance by holding it in one direction. My head had to remain in a forward direction. No truning from side to side. This went on for about 7 days. Then it seemed to go away slowy one side at a time. I had some pain killers but despite this one night it was so bad I coulld not get any sleep finding a comfotable position to be in being the problem. How should I know what was in the sirynge theat nurse injected into my arm. Just because it was markded as tetanus doesn't mean they couldn't have reloaded it before bringing to my room. They had plenty of time to be decietful. I should have demanded to take the empty sirynge with me. Evidence you know. When something like this happens it is reasonable to be suspicious.

I just had a tetanus shot yesterday for a dog bite -- and yes, I"m feeling achey all over, my face is flushed, but i 'm freezing and drinking hot all day has not helped. I'm not thrilled to hea htat this may contnue fora week.....

I got a tetanus shot 3 weeks ago as a cherry on top of cutting my hand open on a glass and recieving stitches. My arm still feels like someone punched me to the point where if I accidently sleep on it, I can't move my entire arm the next day. I was just wondering if this is normal, and how long to expect to be in pain like this. The E.R. doctor told me that it would hurt fairly bad the day after the shot, not almost a month after... I'm pretty frustrated and pissed.

Sorry you experienced this also. I had a tetanus shot a couple days ago. When I got up the next morning, I could barely move. Every muscle in my body hurt. Also had a low grade fever. Felt like I had a bad case of the flu. When I went to the doctor the next dayl, she informed me that that WAS a natural reaction for some people who have tetanus shots. I have begun feeling much better each day. Hope you will also.

I'm in so much pain all over my body all my joints hurt and its been three days. The first night and second I had high fever, chills, sick stomick, and severe pains all over. Now my chest is burning and I have pains all ove mostly joint pains. My arm isn't bothering me where I got the shot at all, but my neck ahh my neck is the worst spot it hurts. Worst part about this my boyfriend thinks I'm over reacting from the shot sense the begining and I think I'm dying.

You should consult ANOTHER Dr. immediately. Sometimes there are "rare" reactions, and you need to have the care and understanding to work through this!

I received a tetnis toxoid shot after a dog bite and the next morning I awoke with both my eyes swollen. I immediately went to the emergency room and thgey gave me a shot of something to counter the allergic reaction. I can't take a tetnis toxoid but ws told I can still take human tetnis not horse tetnis. Is this true? I never had any other pain or anything in 44 years. What wouldthey give me if I did contact the bacteria?

I had a tetanus shot in my right arm last monday, just a little stiffness there. Starting Friday my left shoulder and side of neck has been aching with almost a throbbing. Hard to sleep on. Does not appear swollen and does not hurt to touch. Haven't done anything strenuous - plus it is my "off arm" .
