My dr also gave me the shot, stating it would  prevent whooping cough. I been having fever and every muscle in my neck & shoulder aches.

. I am never sick. are these side effects to the shot? She said you need this shot even when you are an adult. I took 2 Ibuprofen

and it seems to be helping a little after 3  days of pain.

As a RN who ran into a similar problem with my husband & almost lost him, standard medicine only treats symptoms. You NEED to find a naturopathic physician .Your immune system is not working as it should and you have an inflammatory process going on.Something as simple as garlic or coconut oil(inexpensive ) may be all you need.Use your on-line skills to find a reasonable naturopath near you ..They are out there and what they reccommend REALLY works.Praying for you too!

My mom just recieved this shot yesterday. She felt nothing until midnight things turned worst. She now cant move her left arm and has pains everywhere on her body! She has fever up to 101F, and a constant headache! I just called a nurse an hour ago, and the nurse Kept pushing me to take my mom to the emergency room!! My mom refused and told me to wait another night. On the sheet of paper we received prior the shot, it listed out some side effects, and is currently accurate to my mom conditions. I dont know i should wait another night or not!

Hi, hope your mom is better by now. Generally, tetanus shot causes reactions similar to the one your mom and others who posted in this thread experienced because it works like most vaccines: the shot itself contains weakened tetanus bacteria, still not the live ones, which cause immune system to react. And this reaction is usually with fever, redness and pain on the injection spot. This isn't supposed to last longer than a few days but it can vary depending on the type of tetanus vaccine – sometimes tetanus and pertussis vaccines are combined in one shot, in other cases diphtheria and tetanus are combined. In these cases there are far bigger chances for allergic reaction and much stronger immune response. However, the most dangerous side-effect of tetanus or these combined vaccines is severe allergic reaction that causes anaphylactic shock – but this reaction happens within minutes of receiving the shot.

Dear Sir, I too took the tetanus shot. It began with severe urticaria. First just one welt or weal on my ankle. Then it began to spread. At one time I was in the dressing room at a store. When I removed my clothes to try a fitting, I looked at my body in horror. Welts from head to toe. I came home and ran to my husband in tears. He put calamine lotion on each welt, it took him the better half of an hour to complete this task. We began a long exhaustive search into the root cause. It all started with that shot. Now I found I had a reaction to sulfur antibiotics, my week-end glass of wine came to an end because of the sulfites added to the wine. Benedryl is dyphenhydramine (sp) and also brought on my rashes. I had a great job that had a REAL nice salary. I lost this job and another job because these weals or rashes that made my thinking fuzzy. I had all of your symptoms These are the items I have eliminated from my diet. If you drink wine (responsibly of course) switch to organic non-sulfites. If you drink coffee switch to organic stomach friendly. Mild amounts of caffeine. Tea? same thing. Avoid sulfa antibiotics. avoid vinegar, drink bone soup. Look for recipes on-line. Your bones hurt because of the inflammatory reaction your body is undergoing. Take a good long look into WHAT you are currently putting into your body. When you (weal) or rash what did you last eat? Keep a food diary. Take notice when your reaction worsens, what did you last consume. I began cutting things out of my diet that seemed to precede a rash. Some things you will not expect are causing this reaction. They call the stomach (the second brain) for a reason, please this area of your body and you will feel great. Get MSG and high fructose corn syrup and GMO's OUT of your diet. Go all organic. Avoid things that are processed. You didn't mention if you got thirsty. I did. I consumed copious amounts of filtered water with a dash of non-aluminum baking soda added. This will help to settle the stomach. I hope I have helped you and anyone else who reads this diatribe. Sincerely, Leah

I had my shot three weeks ago with no reaction until 5 or 6 days ago and it began with a small red itchy spot at or near the injection site. Now I am having pain in the entire arm. Did the cream work and did you return to the doctor? Any conclusions?

My wife got a tetanus shot two weeks ago and has been having seizers ever since. We have been back to hospital multiple times and they say it is not from the shot. She was totally fine before the shot they say its just a quince that it started when she got the shot. it has been two weeks and she has had over 60 seizers as well as a golf ball size knot on her arm from the shot. I think she had a severe reaction from the shot or is allergic to something in the shot. But every time we bring the shot up as to when this all started they act like we are suing them and shrug it off like there is no way the shot could of done this or they change the subject. So my question is medical personnel told if this happens to not say anything or check to see if this is causing damage. It almost seems like they do not want to say the shot did anything. She just wants to live her normal life again and cant because of this stupid shot. I need help for her neurologist says she is bringing the seizers on her self lol. but funny she was perfectly normal before the shot and nothing else changed is there a way to test for to much in or blood or something. We are getting no where and i will never get a shot again.
