birth control pill that doesnt cause weight gain

I tried implanon and gained 75lbs in like 4 months. Then moved to the Nuva ring where I gained another 25 in the last 3 months. Absolutely horrible. Good luck to you!

I've only tried one type of pill, which is Levlen. My doctor prescribed it to me because I told her that I didn't want to gain weight or have mood swings, and she said this would be the ideal pill for me because it's gentle and easy. My moods were pretty good on it, but I DID gain weight, and when I told her that I suspected so she quickly dismissed it and said it can't possibly be from the pill, that it's my diet and refused to listen to what I had to say further. I went home and decided I'd muster up the courage to weigh myself for the first time in 3 months, only to find that I weighed more than I ever had. It wasn't a HUGE weight gain, as I had only been on Levlen for 4 months, but it was a good 3-4kg, which was enough to get me worried (at my size that's not a small amount). I found it hard to believe that the one time I get on the pill and gain weight that these two events are only a coincidence.

Another thing is I suspect that the pill also caused me to be allergic to cats. I know, it's a really weird side effect, and I've never heard anyone else develop allergies while being on ANY BC. I'm 90% sure about it, because when I was on the pill, I stayed at my sister's for 2 weeks and she had a cat. Within two days my eyes were watering and nose was runny, and the effect lasted during my whole stay. Then much more recently, about 2 weeks after I got off the pill, I had stayed at a family friend's for about 3 days where she had four cats (little cuties!) and I didn't develop any allergic reaction to them. However, I can only speculate as I wasn't there that long. Furthermore, about a month after quitting Levlen, (which was about a couple of days ago) I had the most horrible PMS. I'd never experienced anything like it before. I had depression and major anxiety and was ruminating about things that were ancient history to me, but once my period came, the anxiety left me so quickly, it was almost like magic. It's not really a surprise since your body needs to take the time to balance out your hormones again after having gotten used to the pill providing them for you. The effects don't stop once you stop taking the pill!

For the record, a month since I'd gotten off the pill, I have lost 2kg (and counting) without trying, without being on any diet. I did notice that my appetite gradually decreased, too. Different pills will have different effects on different women. So don't listen to any doctor who ignores your suspicions or worries, because while they may be well-versed with the human anatomy in general, NO ONE is as well-versed about your body as you are. You know your own body and its weight patterns and habits, so listen to yourself.

thank you!  i have been on Jolessa for about a year and have gained 20 pounds and at least 1 cup size.  i thought i was going crazy.  i also have zero sex drive.  I'm going to try to cleanse for 6 months to get rid of this weight.  i hope it helps.  The only good side effect was that it helped control my migraines.

Does beyaz make you gain weight? I'm 18 and just started birth control, I'm sexually active and a college student so I'm scared of getting pregnant. & also does beyaz cause acne??

I started on Yasmin and loved it. Lost 45lbs. Started at -180 lb But had to change since I had to pay out of pocket since the lawsuit issues... Loved it and would go back if I could. Now I'm on lutera and gained. I am now 195 and still gaining. I'm sick of the Bc.

i take azurrette and i never gained any weight ive been taking it for about 7 years now

yasmin is on the recall market i wouldnt take that if i was you it causes clots

If you would carefully read people's comments people are saying they do try and eat healthy and exercise. If you don't have any birth control related comments restrain yourself of comments, please.

I was on lutera and gained 20+ pounds. So they switched me to yasmin. Did it take long to lose all the weight?

I too was around 5'2", small fame & usually weight about 110-112. I have taken Yaz & Yasmin for many years without weight gain and it actually may have helped keep the weight off & helped with My Nodular Acne. When my employer dropped our insurance & I later quit that job, I decided to get a less expensive or free birth control that I would only have a period every 3 mo. OMG! The weight came on sooo fast, especially in my mid section, waist, stomach, hips & thighs. It is HORRIBLE and I have almost a full 3 mo pack left, but I can't keep gaining weight at this rate and want to get rid of the 10-15 lbs I have put on.

I am 23 and I have had one child. I have been on paragard for just under and went from 146lbs and now weigh 303lbs. The only change I have made in my diet was to limit my calories to 1100 since I noticed a 20lb weight gain. I exercise 2 hours a day 4 days a week and cannot lose even the water weight. I am scheduled to have it removed in 2 weeks, but need some sort of birth control. I am at my biggest and I am getting married so I want to be my smallest. Not only the weight gain my periods have been awful I can use an entire box of tampons in a day and the cramps are debilitating. PLEASE HELP!!

I am a personal trainer and was 110-115 depending on time of month. I started bc and nothing changed other than my sexual activity and I was 156 at my largest. I stopped bc and am now back down to 120. I workout every day.... its not only my job but my passion. You cannot tell me that the birth control has nothing to do with it.

I have tried seasonique, murina, and now on lo loestrin fe, and I used to be a size 6, and now am a size 14! I cannot lose weight to save my life. about ready to simply give up. :( its so embarrassing... especially when my fiancé is smaller than I am. and theres nothing I can do about it, no matter how much I try. so I feel you on the weight gain!

Hi I was on dronis 30 and now I've left it and I'm taking another medicine. If I've left dronis 30 will I gain weight ?

I'm 19 and I've been on the NORA-B pill since i was 16. I have had NO WEIGHT GAIN. None at all. Works just as well as when I was on other pills. It is a progestogen only pill. I would recommend it to anyone who has had significant weight loss on their current pill.
