Hello, I have been on BCP for 8 years with almost no issues until recently I started having a low libido and vulvodynia. Along with the other risks associated with BCP I decided maybe it was time to consider other options. I ended my pack about a week ago buy since I was uncertain if my partner would be willing to wear condoms or go along with another method I have taken the first two of the next pack. Since I had two more packs left I thought about finishing them off but the pain is excruciating and I think it's really time to stop. The only issue is we had unprotected sex this morning and I did take a pill right after (only the second one of the pack) if I stop taking them starting tomorrow is there a possibility I will be pregnant? I've read about people using their own BCP for emergency contraception should I just do that and stop afterwards? And if this is the case what would be the correct dosage of pills to have the desired effect with minimal side effects? I know it's best to finish a pack first before stopping and that was my plan but I figured one or two pills wouldn't make a huge difference I'm not right in the middle of the pack or anything. Any insight would be wonderful. Also for anyone who has gone off the pill what were the symptoms and how can I alleviate them?
