Obstetricians and Gynecologists think that OB/GYN related mobile apps enhance their ability to care for patients. However, unlike most of the other medical specialties, Obstetrics and Gynecology have a lack of mobile tools available for their specialty.

While there are many mobile medical apps out there, there are few clinical decision support tools specifically tailored for OBGYNs who want to keep up with research, perform calculations, and manage patients. Many of these tools remain web-based and not well adapted for mobile devices.
But those mobile tools that have been developed for OB/GYN are mostly outstanding resources made by authoritative sources. They are essential not only for physicians and residents, but for midwives, nurses, and medical students as well.

The ACOG app is a collection of valuable clinical and professional tools, news, and resources related to obstetrics and gynecology, including the latest clinical guidelines, calculators, immunization schedules, headlines, job search, and more. 
The app publisher is the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) is a professional association of physicians specializing in obstetrics and gynecology.
The app provides more than 500 Practice Bulletins and 160 Committee Opinions, which offer the most complete set of authoritative, peer-reviewed, evidence-based guidance.
Other tools include EDD Calculator, Indicated Delivery Calculator, Immunization schedules, and more.
Most of the content in the app can be accessed for free, while some require ACOG membership.

ASCCP Mobile App

The ASCCP stands for American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. They have developed comprehensive guidelines for Managing Abnormal Cervical Cancer Screening Tests and Cancer Precursors, which are also available as a mobile app for iOS and Android.
The ASCCP app provides recommendations for cervical cancer screening guidelines, as well as the collection of all of the ASCCP guidelines algorithms.
The app is easy to use and navigate between features. It allows for tracking and recommendations of multiple sequential results for patients.

The WUSM OBGYN Guide app has been created by the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis with the goal of replacing hardcopy manuals, which can't survive in the hectic environment of labor and delivery floors.

The app provides the users with quick facts about common obstetric encounters and complications, as well as nationally recognized, evidence-based protocols on how to manage these complications. It is aimed primarily at physicians, nurses and mid-level providers and their daily practice.
The app also includes a quiz section covering high-yield elements of the OB/GYN field that could be useful to medical students and OB/GYN residents preparing for the exams.

WUSM OB Insulin App

OB Insulin is another app developed by WUSM. The app helps OB/GYN calculate a starting insulin dose for their diabetic pregnant patients. 
Using known protocols, the app users input maternal weight and the trimester to calculate the dose of both long and short-acting insulin and select between regular insulin and faster acting medications.
WUSM OB Insulin app is free to download, however, only for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

WUSM OB Calc App

Washington University School of Medicine's OB Calc is a companion to their OBGYN Guide app. 
The app doesn't contain as much content but does have clinical calculators that OB/GYNs can use to make clinical decisions. Calculators to note are and.
The app provides instant clinical support for determining a patient's success rate for vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC), management of ectopic pregnancy,  determining the risk for Down syndrome based on the presence of ultrasound markers, body surface area calculation and methotrexate dosing, and intrauterine growth restriction calculation and management.
OB Calc app could prove useful to ultrasound technicians, triage nurses, and providers of all levels, not just in OB/GYN but also in emergency medicine.

FetalGrowth App

FetalGrowth app is a calculator and customized growth chart, which allows OB/GYN to quickly compute and track the fetal weight percentiles for both singleton and multiple (twins) pregnancies. 

This app also allows providers to quickly detect fetal growth-related problems, such as the Small for Gestational Age condition. 
Users can choose between full parameter calculators and customized growth charts and their respective simplified versions, which come in handy whenever some or most of the information regarding pregnancy is not available.
