I have had 4 back surgeries, a pain pump, which was removed. Then I have had 2 steroid injections. I did not notice the tired feeling both body and back until the injections. My back is so tired all the time and I love to bass and crappie fishing. Have done it all my life I am 72 years of age will I ever get better so I and my husband can enjoy our life. What is left of it. Oh well there is only one that will help me that is God.

True Pam. I regularly have occipital nerve block and temporal nerve block. I have to stop eating anything low carb or that the body uses to create cortisol and I pick up really quickly.

this is all not very encouraging. I got my first cortisone shot a week ago and now the simplest task just exhausts me and I feel lousy and headachy all the time. All I want to do is sleep. At least the sciatica pain is gone

I feel the exact same way as all of you. I had three round of epidural injections in my cervical spine and became so fatigued that I could barely work or do anything at all. I just had steroid injections into my scalp for another condition that I developed over the last year and I was so tired that I went to work and then home to bed right away. It was awful. I'm guessing it wore off because now I feel better after three months however my scalp is irritated again. I'm considering some curcumin for a more natural approach. I'm removing anything inflammatory from my diet as well.

I am reassured to find this information, Thanks for the posts- I am suffering from the fatigue syndrome as well. I resisted cortisone shots until my sixties. I am a competitive tennis player and am playing a tournament in North Carolina, I am only playing doubles, and was so Exhausted yesterday that I had to quit playing. I had shots in both knees and one in my shoulder two weeks ago that triggered this upset in my system. I am supposed to represent the US in senior team competition next week, but am now planning to withdraw.
I do know my body well and have had the feeling, in some sense, of something going on energetically in my gut. No bloating, still an appetite, just something energetically stimulated and different.
I have recently read about a Chinese acupuncture system that focuses on the belly.
I am going to seek out treatment and will write about any perceived progress. I’m sorry now that I had the shots. Didn’t really have to have them.
Thanks again for the information. I sensed my fatigue was related to cortisone. Now I know.

Sorry, I've only just seen your post. I didn't know about the connection between cortisol and carbohydrates when I had ME badly, I just used trial and error. Glad to hear low carbs give you relief from the symptoms.

Hi, Only just seen your post. Hope you are feeling better now. If not, try low carbs. Also, have you tried Turmeric with pipperine for inflammation? Works well for me.

Steroid injections prevent your adrenal glands from producing Cortisol!! I’m suffering through this. It can take a year or more for the adrenal glands to start functioning again. It’s a terrible condition call Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency.

I too have had overwhelming exhaustion for a couple months now following a cortisone injection four months ago. For the first three months, when I slept at night I fell into such a heavy sleep that I was afraid I would not be able to get up were there a fire alarm - it was as though I was drugged. But the pain was gone and for the most part I felt good during the day until two months in when tiredness began to take over my days getting worse until now I can barely get up during the day. I don't feel depressed per se, only sad that I am so tired and I feel like my life is disappearing in front of my eyes. I am 59.
