I've had a vasectomy 30 years ago. My semen is clear and green tinted. Is there something wrong down there or is this normal

Hey Fast Eddy, it may be normal depending on what you ate recently or not normal because of the green color not related to diet. Think back to your diet recently and have you been eating a lot of green food as this can cause coloring in feces or urine and I guess sperm too - beets do this too and if you eat enough carrots these can do it too. Now, if it is not due to food/diet then you may have a problem that you will have to see your doctor for. This may be an infection as in prostate infection or prostatitis.
Hope this helps and good luck. Hope it is not serious...

of course, for everything that you are not sure what the cause is, you should see your doctor. as you already know, a healthy semen is normally a whitish-gray color. if you have a green semen, this type of color may indicate a prostate infection. As I already told, semen is normally a whitish, cloudy fluid. It's usually quite thick just after ejaculation but liquefies about 20 to 30 minutes later. Usually, changes of the color is not a reason to be concerned, but you have to be careful and whenever you notice something different, you should make an appointment with your health care provider.

Lizardqueen420, thank you for your reply. I eat a normal amount of greens, nothing to any extreme. As far as an infection goes, wouldn't there be other signs if there were an infection, fever, swelling, pain??

Hey Fast Eddy, not necessarily. I have had lots of infections without any symptoms.
