Hiya,
I'm interested in your experience, as it sounds similar to mine. Docs said it wouldn't be the depo shot but I think it's highly possible. I just posted a reply to someone else explaining what happened; I had muscle spasms, numbness, tingling, chest pains, it was awful! This was all when it would have been 'wearing off'

I had my first depo shot last year in June. of course the shot only last 3 months and then you need another. Which I never did. So August my shot ran out. And I didn't continue the shots every 3 months. I never got it again. So it's been 10 months since my shot. For 10 months I have been on bed rest. Taking it easy. Every single day. The pain. The tears. The sleep, it never stops. I'm beyond my limits for depression. And all I want is to figure out what I can do. I drink water and Gatorade every day. And I eat as I should everyday. I'm 5'6". 150 lbs ( I was 130) and I'm 18 years old. I will never recommend the depo shot. Because it makes your bones brittle and fragile. This means you loose bone density. But I wake up (no matter if it's 7am or noon, I wont be able to sit up or move. I lay in bed until I feel ready to get up. And I finally go to the bathroom. And I go back to bed alot. But sometimes I can get up and be able to go outside and get some air. Realize that I ONLY TOOK ONE SHOT. And this is how my morning goes. Im nauseous every single day, all day long. Maybe here and there it breaks, but it doesn't take but moments to return. My soon-to-be husband is very good to me, and he tries hard to make sure I'm okay. Taking showers everyday is hard. I can't take one alone. alot of times I get dizzy and lightheaded. I won't be able to see sometimes so he's there to help. I get hot flashes alot and I never leave the house. I never go see family, especially friends because of how depo affected me. Now, you should also know I have hashimotos disease but I have had this prior and my levels are consist with my disease and my doctor knows my thyroid isn't what's doing this. I have had countless ultrasounds and scans. Nothing yet. But I had more and waiting on a call today. Anyways. I'm beyond exhausted and need some answers. I'm so young and I wants kids one day when I'm ready and healthy, and I'm not sure depo Provera has given me that.

I've been on Depo Provera since 1996 - yes, that's 22 years. I'm just coming off it because I'm going to turn 50 next month, and I'm told it's not good for my age and may have consequences like increased risk of stroke...but that's just in people over 50..... don't properly know what they are yet because I haven't had the consultation appointment. BUT I though I must post, as I've had the most wonderful time on Depo. I haven't had a pain or period, I haven't had any weight gain, no increase in migraines, nothing. It has enabled me to travel across time zones for work and not worry about forgetting the mini-pill (I do get migraines, which is why I couldn't take the normal pill). My boobs don't feel sore like they used to before, when I run or just sleep on my front. It's been fab, and I'll truly be sad to say goodbye to it. Perhaps the only thing is that I do feel there's a slight loss of libido when I've just had a shot. I came off it for a while to try and get pregnant and start a family - I did, immediately! So no problems there either. Ifit's not for you though, your body will tell you. Just be sure it's not psychosomatic symptoms because you've heard some negative press though. Good luck in everything you do! x

I got my first shot in December of 2017 it’s now May of 2018 and I finally got my dysautonomia diagnosis. I was perfectly healthy before the shot I only got one and I haven’t had a period since January of 2018. I was constantly dizzy nauseous and sad. I lost 25 pounds in a month from not being able to eat . I didn’t know what to do and it all started off when I got the shot. At one point the doctors thought I had lymphoma or ovarian cancer. This shot is the worst thing you can do to your body. I don’t know why they give it to people please warn others about this I’ve spent 6 months depressed angry and feeling like I’m crazy because all my doctors said “ you probably just need to drink more water that’s why you pass out or when I went to the hospital tachycardic they said “ have you eaten today I heard you lost 25 pounds you know many young girls have anorexia we can help you” and so on they made me feel like I was over reacting. Trust your body when you think something is wrong I hope this post can help others in anyway.

See I had one shot in early June, which means it ended late august/early September. I had a period regular period throughout the 3 months I was on the depo. My last period started august 10th, lasted 2 weeks. September came and I was a day late, got light pink creamy discharge, but only on one wipe and it went away. Never saw it again. It’s November 18th and I’ve still yet to have a period.

Hi Girls, i have another horror story to add and hopefully someone can shed some light to my issue, i m on my second shot which i wish i had never gotten, i have gained almost 11kg!!!! and have lost my period altogether. no mood swings just a sensitive cryer. apart from the weight gain and the loss of libido, and not period i feel super tired all the time and sad because my cloth are not starting to fit and and i have tried loosing weight whilst on the depo, did keto for a month and lost just 1 kg! when i would normally loose 4 :( oh and with the first shot did experience funny hunger, would eat normally and then it felt like i hadn't eaten anything, extreme hunger anxiety, but not feel hungry? im on my second shot and last shot, will NEVER do this again unless im anorexic.
just wanted to know roughly what to expect when coming off the depo and also how to get rid of this depressing depo weight gain? (earlier thirties)

It looks asthough I could of wrote this! I'm going through the exact same right now. Only 1 week off. Started to get these symptoms 3 weeks before shot was due. 1 min fine, all of a sudden bam! Felt dizzy and faint. Rushed to hospital. All checks came back fine. Ita been 4 weeks now and I'm not right. I feel faint, weak, panick attacks (never had them beforw) constantly feeling nervous. Feels like I'm in a bubble, like walking around in a dream. Shadows of my former self. I just want to feel normal again. Your post was a year ago, how are you feeling now?
