48 hours following I had a very bad spasm in my right calve muscle ( I have never experienced a leg cramp so intense and I have had many over the years, this was like my muscle went into a knot) immediately following it went to my big toe and it bent and stayed like that for about a minute, I was screaming in pain. My calves were sore after that keeping me up at night. I called my Doctor and he told me to start taking double doses of Calcium / Magnesium. 2 weeks went by and they were getting worse keeping me up at night with the constant pain in my calves, I was also experiencing irregular heart rhythms, so early last Sunday Morning I went to Emerge thinking I may have a blood clot. They ruled this out and did a blood test to see if I had a heart attack, and told me to go back to my family Doctor for more testing. My Doctor does not believe these muscle spasms are caused by the Cortisone and did blood work that showed my Vitamin D levels were very low and told me to take 2000 IU per day, as that was why the Calcium /Magnesium was not being absorbed properly. He also prescribed Quinine for the muscle cramps. I was afraid to start taking this after reading the side effects, but the pain was getting worse, not better, so I have been taking them for 3 days now, following a very bad cramp that has left me limping in pain. It is getting worse not better, I am so tired from the pain keeping me up most of the night. I am also taking a Multivitamin/mineral and Trace Minerals, along with my other prescribed Anti-inflammatory, and rosuvastatin.

If you are having the same reaction, go to your pharmacist or print of a report to file with Health Canada in my case or your Health Authority. The manufacturer of the drug is the same one doing the reporting of the side effects of the drug, so it is very important for everyone who is experiencing this to take the time and report it so they can go back to the Manufacturer with enough data to have them record these side effects.

I had cortisone n lidocaine trigger point injections in my shoulder n upper back 10 days ago on Tuesday n I got so, so much worse in those areas plus my knees n legs n now every day or so something else also hurts very bad. Yesterday pain went around to other side of neck n upper chest too. I finally called P.S. on Fri cause I've had these injection atleast dozen or more times over last 10 years n this never happened before she said I needed to see surgeon sooner than later about my cervical herniated discs. So I'm guessing u probably have at least one too. I had no idea neck discs effect knees n legs!
