I am 9 weeks pregnant. I had a sudden cough and saw blood mixed with sputum. I did the PPD skin test and the doc said it looked positive for TB. I haven't lost weight and neither have I lost appetite. I don't sweat too much and don't cough at all. Whenever I cough forcefully I still see blood in sputum.I am waiting for the sputum culture result which is taking forever. I have been told abt the risks of having an X-RAY done while pregnant so decided not to do it. Is there any other way of confirming whether I have TB? Also, if confirmed, can I take any medications? My grandfather had Tuberculosis and I had Bronchitis as a child. Pls help!!!

I don't know whether it's relevant for you now or not.

A friend of mine was suspected of TB and a MONTOX test was done to confirm Tb.

An injection is given on your hand and is observed for 3 days. The injection is not painful at all.

I pray GOD that All is well with you and your child..Best wishes.....kelly..

I'm having a chronic ache in the middle of the lower back, especially after sitting for extended periods. Is it a symptom of TB?
