Little bumps on the areola or nipple can actually be Montgomery's tubercles and they can produce a small clear to white liquid or sometimes solid material. This is just produce oil and sometimes milk to lubricate and keep the nipples soft and elastic. Don't squeeze them. Cancer and hormone imbalances cause breasts to leak. Even though cancer that causes this usually isn't located in the breast. I know that mine are leaking now though I haven't breast fed in over a year. They had dried up six months ago and now they are at it again. My first thought was that I was pregnant but as my last pregnancies I knew that I would have to be several months along already and that would be impossible. I have been having a lot of money issues and stress lately. My thyroid levels were also low so my meds have been raised recently. SO many things can cause this. If the breasts leak uncontrollably or any other strange symptoms appear then it is best to see a doctor. Whether it is serious or not, there is no reason not to know your body and all of its habits!

Okay, this is for everyone who replied to this thread and to everyone who is about to. YES, you can leak milk without ever being pregnant. Look up "Induced Lactation" on the internet and you'll get a ton of information on it. A lot of pumping/suckling on the breasts will stimulate the glands in your breasts and that will send a signal to your brain to release milk into your milk ducts. A lot of women who adopt children will induce lactation so they can breast feed their adopted babies. It usually takes a few weeks to have a decent amount of milk, but it does work. I have also noticed that while on my period, if I take a long hot shower, I will leak milk. I have had a child, but I haven't breast fed in almost 7 years, and I have never been on any kind of birth control that may have affected that either. Every woman's body is different, so if it's just a few drops, then I wouldn't worry about it. If it's alot, then go see a doctor if you're concerned. As for the boyfriend, well, he's a guy and most guys like breasts, and what else is there to do with them but suck on them and play with them? I married at a very young age and my hubby was keen to have a baby too soon. So, all that we had for love making for next two years was squeezing and sucking at my nipples or *touching down there. I remember while he continued with this for maybe two hours each day, I started leaking BM from day 15 onwards - no pregnancy that is. It was embarrassing at first, but we both enjoyed it later. When I had my first baby about 2.5 years later, my boobs would squirt milk on their own once the baby started crying - he would many a times choke on my overflowing nipples. Had no problems with my boobs/nipples except required often pumping. Although my problem resolved after my third baby, my nipples still leak when they are excited or sucked for about 10 minutes? Avoid loose clothing or where clothing can rub on your bare nipples - this is unwarranted excitation of nipples

I to have had this problem. I'm in my mid 20's and I recently visited my OBGYN. My doctor sent a sample to the lab and I do not have breast cancer, I'm not pregnant, and the results were normal. Go see a doctor please, in the meanwhile don't let your boyfriend suck on your breast it will help stop the leakage. ;-)

I have had all sorts of tests to do with prolactin levels and other hormones, kidneys, thyroid, and all of my tests have come back as normal, also i have not had any arousal to the nipples...no explination as of yet.... so YES non pregnant woman CAN produce breast milk...yes its uncommon but it can happen

thank god, but my husband has been sucking on my boobs and sh*t, then out of the random he said he tasted breasmilk in his mouth. i got so scared, my doctor said i don't have breast cancer. so what am i suppose to do, i just had my period. and the heavy breast feeling come often, i bought a pump.

I freaked out the first time this happened to me (roughly three years ago.) Since then, however, I've found out that the same thing happened to my mother in her early twenties, and shortly after my incident, it happened to my younger sister.
I went to the doctor and she performed the tests and all came out normal. So, while you should get it checked out I wouldn't really worry. It seems to be one of those almost-normal things that people just don't talk about. Or my family is weird.

ur breasts naturally produce milk...breast size is a great indication of how much milk ur body is producing...the bigger the breasts the more milk! thats y pregnant womens breasts get bigger and might end up smaller should they decide to breast feed!
another thing! if you are NOT pregnant then your breasts should NOT be lactating or releasing ne other such liquid!

Well that didn't happen mine got bigger, and i'm not liking it at all. alot of back problems and shoulder issues and i've been approved for a lift and reduction. but Since Kanye West mothers incident i have hesitated to proceed. Any Clue?
