Hi everyone! I'm after some information about drug induced hemolytic anemia. The question is plain and simple and I really do hope someone can answer me. I want to know what the drugs are that induce drug induced hemolytic anemia. Perhaps that will help me avoid those drugs. Is there anyone who can do this for me?

There are several drugs that can cause the body to attack its own cells in that way. Quinidine is one of them, Methyldopa is another and Cephalosporins can do this as well. But the most common drug that causes this is... Penicillin! So next time your doctor tells you to take it for something when you can get by without - think twice!
