My friend has been diagnosed with drug induced lupus syndrome. I am not sure what it is all about. I know that he has been using certain medications for years, but I am not sure which ones. I would like to find out something more about this. Thank you for replying to my post.

Hi. Long term use of certain drugs can cause lupus syndrome. Those are various drugs. Most of them are drugs for heart disease, hypertension, thyroid gland, neuropsychiatric disorders, antibiotics and some anti-inflammatory drugs. Symptoms can vary. Muscle and joint pain and swelling are some of them. Flu-like symptoms, fever and fatigue are also possible. Serositis is another option. Laboratory test results can also be changed. I hope this helps.
