I'm just wondering if anyone else has developed thyroid problems while taking Effexor?

I'm 100 % certain that effexor has some relationship with the thyroids functioning. Every time I went off of effexor my thyroid would all but shut down, I had ths levels tested and I was hypothyroidal (i.e. I was sluggish). As far as I know I had never had thyroid problems before effexor and am convinced that the effexor has some kind of complex interaction with ths levels. Now its been two years since I've been on effexor and I feel like its finally evening out, but I will NEVER go on that stuff again. Plus I was on a super low dose!

I have taken effexor for years. Last week, I was visiting my sister out of state and ended up in the emergency room and hospitalized overnight. I thought I was going to die. My thyroid level was extremely low.
I quit taking the effexor right away and am going through terrible withdrawals on top of everything else. I had an ultrasound done on my thyroid today and am waiting on the results.
I will NEVER take this medicine again. I feel like I am in the middle of a nightmare.Quote:

Get off of Effexor! I developed CHF and almost died at a very young age. My life is ruined, and was taken off the medicine cold turkey after 300 mil a day! It's been a year and I'm still going through horrible withdrawals. The damage to my heart is irreversible, and I'm permanently disabled. The simplist of tasks is impossible for me. It has taken a good 20 years off of my life. If it can cause that much damage to my heart, what other organs will it affect?

Hi, I just started effexor a week ago, and I am having problems using the bathroom at night. I take the pill in the morning. It makes me feel so much better and has helped with my migraines. Any suggestions how to control my urination?
