MRI showed a disk in my neck was out. Meds were not stopping pain so Orthopedic sent me to pain management .
Need Epidoral in neck & sent me home with a TENS unit.
After using TENS unit my head went knumb. Dizziness-extreme vertigo - extreme tremors - went back in to that feeling of body shutting down or dying. After that I have been to the ER 3 times in 1 week. The episodes of going down coninue on a daily basis several times a day.
I am trying to control them with Hydrocodone before pain gets bad in neck & head. When pain starts so do the episodes I have to keep ice on my head & neck constantly-day & night & am not able to function. This is every minute of my day.
Nov 2009 epidoral in neck
Still having problems with ear ache & pain.
Vertigo & dizziness almost all the time. Cant ride in car for more than a few miles. I actually feel worse since I started with epidorals & pain management.
Jan 2010
Still cant ride in a car without taking med for motions sickness or it sets me into vertigo & episodes. It seems maybe epidorals are starting to work-but I never know if it will last.
Ive been taking OTC pain reliever now & using a Shiastu massager on my neck. Its seems to be helping.
Wake up every morning going for ice for my neck & head I fighting dizziness & the feeling of getting one of those episodes.
Off & on I would notice my face would be very swollen.
Now swollen face all the time & throat swells up like a frog.
Took Z pak for throat & neck swelling. Didn’t work so now on methylprednsonon & Zyrtec. Always dizziness & not feeling well at all.
Last epidoral is this month. Also been having trouble with most all the meds Drs r telling me to try. Seem to be developing allergies to a lot of meds.
While the epidorals seem to help the slipped disk sometimes in my neck-the meds & TENS unit have made me feel worse.
Lost count of how many times I’ve been to ER in the past 3 months since I started with Epidorals
After 2nd epidoral in Dec I called DR office because I started having muscle cramps in shoulders & mid back. No one called back & I wanted to know if this was a symptom of an Epidoral.
2 weeks later-sore throat-felt like throat was swelling inside & face & throat swelled up.
Went to family DR after antibiotics & Methlypredisonol didn’t work he started me on Prednisone-stronger & for 12 days.
Kept feeling really bad-no improvement.
By January 7 still had swelling-now also in the back of my neck & couldn’t turn my head. Started getting bad muscle spasms in back that went around to chest. Went to ER. They did EKG.
Back to family DR on Saturday. Thinking steroids are the problem that past 3 months. Epidorals have made me worse & then steroidsd from DR adding to it
Symptoms of facial hair-swollen face -swollen neck all come from steroid use. I think I have been having reaction to steroids for the past 3 months. Also from March 2009- Sept 2009 I was on steroids 2-3 times for allergic reactions.
January 10 didn’t take prednisone today-by noon I feel swelling in face to be a little better. Neck doesn’t seem as stiff.
Only taking Zertec -Tylenol Arthritus- Muscles relaxer
Still feel a little shakey but much better & pain has eased up tremendoulsy
Swelling going down the first day I stopped steroids- DR was trying to stop allergic reaction which i believe was to steroids
& was trying to treat it with steroids
Also temples & top of head hurt. In Dec very blurry vision What seemed like blood pressure pounding in head at times.
Pain was unbearable for 3 months-felt shakey most of the time-heart palp- at times head would even go knumb
I will not get a 3rd epidoral & would tell anyone the same or at the least check the side effects first !

My doctor decided to induce labor for no reason 2-3 weeks ahead, which got me thinking a bit paranoid as to the reason this doctor had. Logically and as feared, the Induction turned into a c-section which just turns out to be an exhaustively slow, stressful and painful procedure. No one else seems to be bothered than the one who is undergoing everything. I was given epidural injected in my lower back. A few mins later my face was numbing too and Iwas having trouble sleeping. During surgery my blood pressure must have dropped tremendously because I was trembling exaggerately with no success on my attempts tokeep my arms still or relax my muscles which were completely out of control, and I consider myself a strong minded person.. After trying different breathing and thinking on something relaxing I asked a surgeon to do something to stop the shaking, I was even embarrassed unreasonably whilst worried sick about how bad things -including the medics- were. I was worried that with all the violent movement my body had, the surgery would be a mess and how would it go for my baby?? then, did the surgeons know what was going on? they kept telling me it was just me feeling nervous. How ridiculous!!! Anyway I lost a lot of blood but survived. I was lost in time after giving birth, very confused.. a day felt like a whole week?! I thought I saw myself sleep, wake up, sleep, even dream and all a few times, watch TV (when TV was off), talk with family, etc. I must have hallucinated most of it, my brain must have overworked so much. I wished it was all a bad dream Id wake up from. I cant describe the backpain -I can take in pain pretty well without saying anything even when I should- but this was major pain, my back pain must have kept me hallucinating awake because I couldnt close my eyes for too long, no wonder it felt like days. It was as if I had been severely kicked by a horse on the back, hell! or is if I had just suffered a tremendous accident and was worried sick how i'd manage to get up and walk. when it all adds up, is the worst part. Near the end I started feeling like I had some sort of poisoning. The air had a bad smell to it, which I knew couldnt be that bad, the food tasted like it had been sprayed with insecticide or some strong smelling chemical. I tried eating even so, thinking none of this could be. Finally I pulled the antibiotic IVs out in despair when I was feeling the worst, like about to faint and die.I asked a nurse for a medical glossary/encyclopedia where I looked up secondary effects for the antibiotics (I know a bit of chemistry,
i used to go to lab workshops everyday at uni).. got no major answers. It was hard to get up, l smelled alcohol all around me, who knows what sort of acidic gas i was exhaling after all the chaos in my body.. huuge headache, lightheaded, short breathing and no success at breathing in better, I was very nauseus, pale and weak, but I had to leave the room as if looking for oxygen and someone who could help, my vision was going worse as well as a burning sensation I felt on my lower abdomen, I still managed not to freak out so much. I got the hell out of the hospital, doctors and nurses werent satisfying to me, their poor communication was annoying as hell and surely they'd want to test all sorts of things on me now. On his last visit, the main surgeon-doctor told mehow he has a family to look after, wife and kids.??!!%^& what the heck?! A week later I was still suffering high fevers, shakes, etc., had to call family doctor and decided to stay away from hospitals, nurses and docs. What a nightmare and a hateful experience this was and I wonder how this will affect my later decisions on related subjects.
