Hi, im terribly scared that i might be pregnant. i just started taking the pill for a bout a couple weeks now. im on my 3rd week of taking them. i had sex the first day of the 3rd week. ever since then ive been, i suppose, spotting, but the spotting isn't really "heavy" but i am spotting a good amount of blood and im afraid i might be pregnant. oh by the way i didnt start taking the pill when i started my period i started taking it. please help! :(

You should be fine honey! as you were on your 3rd week, you would have gone past the time IF you HAD ovulated! Which you probably didn't - as the cocktail of hormones would have already been working by then! So you also need to know that your period WILL be wonky for about 3 months - this is when your body finally settles down with ALL the hormones etc.! Also I CAN'T state this enough! To STOP not only pregnancy but STI's/STD's you HAVE to use a condom as well! The pill is 97 - 99% effective! And 0% effective for STI's/STD's! So BE CAREFUL OK! And be prepared for up and downs with your period too, as these can just happen out of the blue!
