this is my first time on birth control. the first and second month i had a 4day bleed-through.
this month however(third month) its been 11 days and im still spotting. in the begining it was normal spotting, later light blood and now its back to brown discharge. im a little worry i dont think this is normal but i also read that it might be a side effect. What should i do?
my boyfriend and i use condoms too because we want to avoid a pregnancy, and we feel more secure using birth control and condoms. help please

Hi honey! First of all GREAT news that you are taking extra measures - with the condom - and ALWAYS use condoms OK?
2nd there is NOTHING wrong with you honey! Each pill is TOTALLY different with it's hormonal cocktail, and usually takes upto 3 full cycles to sort itself out! the pill reacts in several ways - stops ovulation, thickens the cervical mucus, thins out the uterine lining, lowers or raises certain hormones (which help with acne etc). So when you start the pill by the 3rd month your uterine lining will be thinner - and thus easier to water down (so to speak) so you shouldn't be getting clots anymore and you will have a steady flow of light fluid! Since it is turning brown, this means that it is now older lining and almost at the end of the entire shedding process! I guarantee you that next month you WILL be different, and this will be probably your period from then on! NOW IF it doesn't settle down and is still wonky you need to talk to your doctor about perhaps changing it to another type! BUT it sounds TOTALLY normal too me and there is nothing wrong OK? Hope that helps!
