Hello. I have been told I will need a LEEP procedure, and have heard the advice "no tampons, or swimming for up to 4-6 weeks. We suggest no heavy lifting or jogging until two weeks have passed." I am currently training for a marathon in 3 months and wanted to know if any other women out there have gone through this. In particular, I am worried about trail running for 20 miles without tampons, which would be a major inconvenience. So I was thinking of trying Seasonale, which reduces the menstrual cycle to only 4 times a year, but may cause break through bleeding the first couple of months. (I'm not sure which would be worse, not using tampons on training runs, or break through bleeding.) Of course, the most important thing is to eliminate pre-cancerous cells, but on the other hand, I want to keep enjoying running. Thanks for any advice!

I was on Depo throughout law school but kept gaining weight, and my doctor was worried about long term bone effects.

I switched to Seasonale, and I am on the second pack. I have have bleeding for about three weeks with some clotting. I seem to be fine otherwise, but I need to take iron... if it happens again next month, I give up. It's not that bad in terms of cramps or anything, but really annoying

I tried Seasonale for about 3 months, and liked the fact that I wasn't getting my period. It worked well for me for that.

The reason I stopped taking it was because the Ortho Tri Cyclen I normally use helped with my acne. I broke out more than I ever have in my life while I was on Seasonale! I'm not saying that Seasonale makes you break out, but the Ortho had helped my complexion.

So, something to keep in mind if that is a problem for you!
