I just had a cortisone injection for Posterior Innersosseous Nerve Entrapment. It is my second one.My doctor suggested to try conservative treatment first. My face is normally a little red, but now lobster red and stinging. My body feels like it is on fire. My pulse rate feels higher--I need to check it. I feel anxious. I know it is the cortisone shot, and I will never get another one again. I hope that it does not make my cycle worse, because I already have difficult Menstrual cycles. The last shot just increased my pain, and did nothing for what it was supposed to. I wish that other treatment had been suggested.

I just had the steroid shot you mentioned and it did make my heart race and I couldn't sleep for a couple of days. I was already on propanolol for Heart skipping (pvc's). I have found propanolol to be a very effective drug with few side effects. it has been used for a long time with good results for many. it might be worth trying it.

I had tachycardia before I got the injections. Wondering now if I should have gotten them in the first place since I have a fast heartbeat.
I take metoprolol which helps me. But after injections it's starting up again when I lie down to sleep and I can't. Sleeping pill helps a bit. Hope this doesn't last for too long. I won't do this again either unless it's a life or death situation. My face also got very hot and red. But I know this stuff is strong and this what it does.

Teri....you have what's known as a cytochrome issue. I too was diagnosed with this after years of not being able to tolerate most meds. Any doctor prescribing you a medication should check to see which cytochrome it is metabolized through...I have found I do well with anything that is transdermal, that way it doesn't make the the first pass through your liver. Unfortunately, this is new to most doctors and they will tell you it's a guide...it's not it's real and it's not going away...
