I am about 6 weeks out from my surgery, and up until tonight the itching has been next level horrific! But after my third attempt calling my doctor and hoping for a solution, I got an answer that actually works! Calmoseptine!!! It's over the counter through the pharmacy and it's like a Christmas miracle in June. I feel wonderful. Thank you Jesus!!!

I was wondering if after a year now, if you still have the itching?? It has been 7 months post surgery for me, 3 external and fissures removed and still have intense itching! 2 doctors pretty much tell me the same thing - keep clean and dry and try allergy meds. Well my butt couldn't be any cleaner and is kept dry and the allergy meds, a 12 hour pill, lasts a couple of hours at best in giving me any relief! I have tried everything! Was wondering if you founds anything to work and were willing to share?

I had external hemmoiredectomy with internal stitches 3 days ago. The redness, blisters and acid like burning pain is unbearable. The pain medicine does little to relieve this. Isn't there anything to put on the red raw skin to relieve the burning??

Glad to know that I'm not the only one going through with this itching. I had my surgery last tuesday and started back working Friday cause I had to. But I'm glad to know that itching is a sign of healing. It's been rough.

I suffer with this but have not had surgery. Years ago, a doctor recommended over the counter CALMOSEPTINE. It worked great for years and might make a good post-op cream. It no longer seems to help me now but worth a try.

Hi, I’m Holly and at about two weeks post-op from having a hemorroidectomy the itching and burning set in. The itching sent me into orbit and I continued to have some bleeding, oozing and pain. I called my surgeon for advise regarding relief. I was told that the symptoms that I was experiencing were completely normal. This is what I was told to do for relief and healing.....continue doing sitz baths after each BM, but no less than three times a day regardless, use no toilet paper, only use moist flushable baby wipes when I felt comfortable enough to wipe after a BM. If not comfortable using the wipes as yet, shower the erea until clean, using a PH balanced feminine wash for sensitive skin and one that is hypoallergenic (men, you can use this for your bottom), as it won’t burn or irritate the skin further. Then, after each BM and sitz bath, pat dry the area and apply over-the-counter Calmoseptine Ointment and place a sterlile non-stick pad (gauze) folded in half and placed on top of the ointment, directly in your butt crack. Then, get dressed as usual. I am one who just cannot use any cream, as I have sensitive skin and often develop a reaction to it! But, once I used this product (Calmoseptine Ointment), I received immediate cooling relief from the itching, burning and pain...Ahhhh! Phenomenal product!!! The gauze will collect any blood or oozing that you may have and it will protect your clothing. The pad will stay place, until you remove it! Don’t be afraid to use this Ointment!!! I was finally able to get great sleep at night and function better during the day!!! Hang in there, it does get much, much better! I promise!

I am only 1week post surgery to have some internal hemorrhoids removed and thought I was well on my way but yesterday felt like you, a yeast infection had developed! So itchy! I doubt you will respond since you posted a year ago but if you do see this, was there anything else your docs prescribed for the vaginal itching? I think it might be worse than the hemorrhoid itch/pain! Lol

Hi there 11 days post op I had two enternal and one external removed with no stitches. The pain for me now is only bad when I bm but other than that I don’t experience much pain or itching but when I do bm it’s completley unbearable and I have to take pain meds and do a sitz bath. When does the pain while going to the bathroom go away?

Holy c**p! Idk what dr would tell you that you could return to work in a week but yes I agree! A crock! I’m 3 weeks out from this nightmare surgery and I still cannot go out in public because of this freaking itch! That dr lied to you!

Pain during BM will be there upto 3 weeks. Its essential to get your diet in place so that you don't have more than 2 BM.
I am in week 7 post cryo haemorroidectomy and fissurectomy. Suffering with burning, itching and mild pain. I think it's some infection. Earlier in week 2 also there was infection and i was given azithral as antibiotic I don't see light. Doctor says its healing but everytime there is a problem. Will this ever end? How long does it take for itching to go away?
