I am a diabetic. I had undergone open hemorrhoidectomy (MM procedure) on 15th August 2016 to remove 03 interno-external hems. One of the hems was thrombosed and the remaining 02 were grade III. My surgery was performed by a Colo-rectal Surgeon.  It was a day care procedure wherein I was admitted at 0700 Hrs, surgery was performed around 1100 Hrs and I was discharged at 1800 Hrs after I had tolerated water and also after passing urine. Today is my post operative day 45. My present condition is quite miserable. I have BM in the morning at around 6.30 am. I have pain while passing BM. The last part of my BM is covered in 2 to 3 drops of blood. I feel like my anus is being stretched / expanded. After BM immediately I have sitz bath with betadine liquid for 20 minutes. The pain subsides a bit. I am pain free for 30 to 45 Minutes after this. BUT THEN the pain and burning sensation starts (around 0800 Hrs) and it is horrible. I am unable to sit / stand / walk. I have to take 2 pain killers Paracetamol and tramadol and sit in warm sitz bath atleast once every half an hour and after that the pain subsides after 3 to 4 hours. So by 12 Noon I am pain free and bit OK. I want to know if any body else has faced this problem ? I asked my surgeon, he says that this is normal and healing is taking place... but a little slowly. My present Fasting Glucose is 125 and PP is 155 and HbA1c is 7.5. Please help / advice if it is normal to have painful BM and bleeding 45 days after hemorrhoidectomy surgery.
