a colorectal surgeon suggest me surgery but after surgery i hv more problems - i couldnt clear my bm as before surgery, each morning after bm, then it will stop, i hv go again within next 30mins. stool are just as big as my thumb size.

the procedure doctor did was perianal repair and hemmoroidectomy.

also after two months i still hv wound pain.

what’s wrong here- why surgeon suggested surgery while i am not even in real stage three, do they just want to earn money

Thank you for sharing this. I am almost 4 weeks post op and going in for my follow up today. I am doing much better other than the terrible pain during BM. I don’t get out of my house much so that I can be close to my bathroom if a BM should occur (thankfully I work from home). The thing I am most nervous about is the appointment today. I am praying the surgeon doesn’t need to do an anoscopy because I do not know how I would be able to tolerate it. I did take narcotics during my post op period but made sure to also take Miralax and sometimes Colace also to combat any constipation. My hat is off to you for being able to stay away from narcotics. I found that they numbed the area considerably, helping my tolerance of the pain. Your post two months post op is encouraging. Thank you.

I'm not here to brag yet rather share a positive story and give some suggestions to help heal quicker.

I had a huge hemorrhoid cluster. I was in pain, leaking, bleeding and feared the healing process was going to take months, maybe years because of all the horror stories I read. Nope. It's 11 days after surgery and It's almost like it never happened and the hemorrhoid cluster was never there. Yesterday, day 10 I was able to not have to use the non-stick bandage pad folded up between my butt cheeks. There hasn't been any wetness, leakage or blood. Even after a bowel movement.

What to take into consideration:
*I'm healthy and not overweight.
*I'm eating properly.
*I'm taking the warm baths 4 times a day like my Dr suggested
*On day 3 I started doing light activity for exercise. Like walking around the block.
*I killed the pain medication to keep from becoming constipated and chose to use medical cannabis (which was prescribed to me for another issue)

and I listened to my Dr and did exactly what was suggested!

I'm not saying people who have posted these horror stories have neglected doing the right things for post surgery but I still wonder how unhealthy and overweight many of these people are and how many are not doing what they're told.

Day 11....Although I feel I'm 100% healed, I know I still have to take it easy but I'm shocked by how well it went for me.

Please listen to me....If you're in good health and not overweight too much, DON'T BE SCARED TO HAVE THIS DONE AND DON'T BE SCARED OFF BY THE ONES SAYING "DON'T DO IT!"

Now for the truth about the pain....Yeah, the first 2 days for me was pain I never felt. I couldn't even sleep but it was worth it! Good luck to everyone. And do what your told by your doctor.

While I am happy to hear a success story, the pain from this procedure has little to do with your health but instead has everything to do with the location of the hemorrhoids. The first few cm of your anus consists of a lot of pain receptors while further up there are NO pain receptors.

The surgery is worth having even with the difficult post op period as you are likely not to have another problem with hemorrhoids.

Yes, I mentioned the pain was intense for the first couple days and I had a huge hemorrhoid on the outside of my anus.

Health has a ton to do with the pain. If you’re not eating properly, loading up on pills and not exercising (unhealthy lifestyle)...that pain will be prolonged. Someone in good health will have a better chance of healing quicker as opposed to someone who isn’t healthy. Logic and factual.
