I have been taking hydroxyzine for my allergy problems (allergic to poison ivy). The drug really helps, but the problem is that I am in a second month of pregnancy. I did not use this drug since I have found out I am pregnant, but I would like to know how long does it take for hydroxyzine effect to subside?

You acted wisely when stopped taking hydroxyzine because of the pregnancy. I guess you must have heard that it is forbidden to take medications during pregnancy, especially in the first trimester. This could cause severe damage to the embryo and fetus, later. As for the effect of the drug, it should subdue in a period between 12 and 24 hours after taking.
