Hello, my father has heart problems. He did not take much care about his eating habits and he smokes too. He already got angina pectoris, but the condition got complicated. Since I know that he might not take the meds at all, I would like to know how often beta blockers should be used.

These meds contribute greatly to prevention of high blood pressure and to stabilization of angina pectoris. As for the dosage, it differs from patient to patient and depends also on the type of beta blockers taken. Here, there are 2 types of beta blockers: cardio selective and non selective. They can be given once or twice daily also depending on the condition of the patient.
