Hello, guys. My father suffers from a kind of arrhythmia. I am not sure which one it is. Among other medications, he should be taking beta blockers as well. I would like to know what beta blockers are used to treat arrhythmia. I would really appreciate if someone could reply to my post.

Hello. Beta blockers are referred as antiarrhythmics class II. Many of beta blockers can be used for this purpose. From non selective ones, sotalol, propranolol, timolol and nadolol are used for arrhythmias. The list of selective blockers used for arrhythmias is larger. Those are: atenolol, bisoprolol, esmolol, metoprolol, etc. However, your father should consult with his cardiologist. These medications should not be taken without consulting a doctor. I hope everything will be all right. Bye!
