I am 5 weeks pregnant, will it hurt my baby if I take just a quarter of a trazodone one time?

Trazodone has been assigned to pregnancy category C by the FDA. Animal studies have revealed fetal resorption in rats and an increase in congenital anomalies in rabbits at doses 15 to 50 times the normal human dose. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Trazodone should only be given in pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk.

Does your doctor know that you are pregnant? This drug is preferably not prescribed during pregnancy. Please revert back to your doctor and inform him/her that you are pregnant. Good luck
