Hello everyone, it has been only 3 days since I had my surgery and the pain is extremely painful. I had a BM on my second day and I cried all night til the sun came up and now it feels as if I have hemorrhoids again. I always feel as if I have stool in my rectum and I'm always in pain. The pain killers my surgeon prescribed was hydrocodone. They don't seem to help. I bought advil to bring down the swelling. The sits baths NOT WORKING. I am in more pain when I get out before I got in. Sometimes I have my good times with the sitz bath, but most of the time I'm not lucky. I keep hearing anal stenosis and fissures...what are these. How do I know if I have these or not. I'm scared, in pained, tired and all of the above. I don't know if I should go to the emergency room or not or call my doctor. Someone please help me and tell me what I should do. Thanks everyone.

It is actually normal to feel such torturous pain within the first 2 weeks after the surgery, let alone 3 days. Try using an ice bag to numb the pain at times to alternate with the sitz baths. Don't give up!

You shouldn't have to visit the ER unless you practically faint from the pain, but you can call the doctor to see if he can help though I think he will most likely administer more powerful painkillers...
