Hi, I started taking Effexor, but I am experiencing side effects as loss of appetite, nausea occasionally, mild headaches, and lack of concentration. I wake up frequently during night and get up early in the morning. But, side effects are different for everyone, some people even experience no side effects. Effexor affects the level of serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain. It belongs to class of drugs called serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, so it acts by increasing brain activity.

I have just changed from taking effexor to the XR and cant close my eyes at night at all....... I take ambien generally 5 mg and have beeb=n increasing it to 20 mg and still NO sleep@@@@@@ at witts end>>>
