I have been on alesse for almost a year now, taking the pills for 9weeks straight, and then breaking for one week, where i get my period. i am currently on my 6th week, and i suddenly had irregular bleeding about 2 weeks ago, and it is still continuing. It is dark-brownish, not very heavy at all...what could it be/mean?
also, i have never missed a pill, but i was on antibiotics for 3 days about a month ago for a uti.

Antibiotics do reduce your protection as im sure you know.
taking the pill all the time for 9 weeks an then i 1 week break is not the normal way to take it. Is this your doctors decision or yours?
Has your doctor told you this is ok?
When i took the pill the doctor said it was ok to do this as a one off, but not recommended all the time.
Tha usual is 3weeks pill 1week rest. But im unfamiliar with your pill, so could be different.
The break through bleeding is normally due to a hormone change. That could be any reason Pregnancy to ovary problems.
I had break through bleeding alot. Mine was my overies an other stuff.
When this happened to me an the bleeding went on i use to stop the pill, let me period happen an then start again.

my doctor told me this was a safe option (to take the 9 weeks and then break for 1)
I have taken the test twice, and it has been negative both times. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow to get my prescription filled again. This is not the first time i have had breakthrough bleeding, and I told my doctor about it the last time i went for a visit. He said he would give me a stronger pill if it continued. I'm going for an appointment tomorrow.
