My husband and I are very faithful with using Encare contrecpetive. The last time we had sex was on sunday night. Tuesday morning I noticed there was very light bleeding and had the symptoms of a cycle. This is unusual because I just recently had a period about 16 days before. I thought that it was a cycle just early. Then I noticed that the bleeding only equated to about a teaspoon and then stopped. Now Wednesday morning I notice some brown discharge.
Wondering what is going on?

I had not heard of Encare before. I had to look it up. Of course, I can't judge from what I saw over the course of about two minutes, but it seems to me that it is a pretty obscure birth control method and that the side effects and success rates are not clear at all.
Brown discharge indicates the presence of blood, in any case. Since Encare is an insert, is it possible that you injured yourself a bit while inserting it, and that is why you have these discharge differences? Do you think it might be time to look into another form of contraception?
