My boyfriend & I are both in our mid 30's. We have been together for 6 years & have always had an "above average" sex life, meaning we have sex at least twice a week & we keep it interesting by trying new positions, etc. My desire has seemed to increase while his has somewhat decreased to an extent. Realizing age/peak differences in women vs. men I try not to let it bother me too much. HOWEVER, the past two times we have tried to have sex, he will get an erection but lose it within a few minutes during foreplay. WHAT IS GOING ON?! He says it's not because of me & he doesn't know why it's happening. I have recently lost quite a bit of weight & I know he thinks I am "too thin" but is this a reason to lose an erection. We have our problems (financially, relationship wise) but they are nothing out of the ordinary...could he be cheating? Please help as this is driving me crazy!

Hi Lin,

I doubt he is cheating just because this is happening.

It can and does happen to all guys occasionally, especially as they get older.  It doesn't mean he's lost interest or is cheating.

Stress can play a BIG role in erectile function.  Odds are that now that this is happening he's worrying about it and that will make it even worse.

Don't focus on it.  Just continue and do something else until he's ready.

One other suggestion, have him see his doctor.  It may be related to a medical issue.

Good luck.
